The Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif has said the operational budget cost of the 2023 African Games is estimated at the cost of 47.7 United States Dollars.
He made the statement when he appeared before Parliament.
He said the Government has spent 195 million Dollars on infrastructure for the 13th African Games in Accra.
According to him,145 million US Dollars was invested for the construction of the Borteyman Sports Centre,34 million Dollars directed towards renovation of the University of Ghana Stadium, and 16 million Dollars used for the refurbishment of the Games Village at Legon.
Meanwhile, the debate on the content on the state of the Nations Address(SONA) by HE The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo- Addo which was presented to the House on the 27th February,2024 continues and it is expected to conclude on Thursday, March7,2024.
The Hon. KT Hammond had the opportunity to preside over the proceedings of the House today. This is the second time a member is presiding other than the Speaker and the Two Deputy Speakers per the Standing orders of the House. Order 12(4).
