My players heeded my advice in the second half — Ampem Darkoa Coach

Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC head coach, Joe Adarkwa believes the players changed the game in the second after heeding his pep talk during recess.

The Wafu Zone B champions rallied from a goal down in the first half of their 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League opener against Asfar FC to win by two goals, and the experienced gaffer believes his players listened.

The game of two halves saw the Moroccan giants make the most of the first half with a goal to show for their efforts before a much talked about equalizer and second in the second half by Ampem Darkoa.

“First of all, we knew our game against Asfar FC would be very difficult so we were very determined and prepared but unfortunately, we conceded in the first half,” he explained.

“I spoke extensively to the ladies and reassured them Asfar FC was just a female team like them and need not show them too much respect and they listened,” he added.

Ampem Darkoa will take on As Mande in their second game on Thursday, November 9 at Laurent Pokou in San Pedro.
