New Force Spokesperson was deported for obtaining her ‘students’ permit by fraudulent misrepresentation’ – GIS

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) says the arrest and subsequent repatriation of Belgian national and spokesperson of The New Force, Ms. Shalimar Abbuisi, was because she obtained students’ permit through fraudulent misrepresentation.

This, according to GIS, compelled the Comptroller-General to revoke Ms. Shalimar Abbuisi’s residence permit under “Section 20 (2)(a) of Immigration Act,2000, Act 573 as she had obtained the students’ permit by fraudulent misrepresentation”

Following the revocation, the Service said “Per the law, she could no longer stay in Ghana and the Comptroller-General ordered her removal from the country.

“Consequently, she was repatriated on the 19th of December, 2023 aboard Air Brussels Flt. No. SN 319 back to her home country,” the GIS said in a statement signed by C/Supt. Michael Amoako-Atta, Head of Public Affairs available to Metro TV.
