NPP parliamentary primaries: Central Region NPP roots for Hawa Koomson

Executives of the Central Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party has declared support for Mavis Hawa Koomson ahead of the party’s parliamentary primaries scheduled for January 27.

The party says it is looking forward to keeping the seat and trusts her candidacy to deliver the desired victory.

For three consecutive times, Madam Mavis Hawa Koomson has led the New Patriotic Party in the Awutu Senya East Constituency to win the parliamentary seat.

Seeking for a fourth term in Parliament, the legislator declared her intentions known and have joined the parliamentary candidacy race.

Even though the race has three candidates struggling for the leadership slot, Acting Chairman of the Central Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party, Percy Dennis on behalf of the party, has declared that the party’s hope resides in Mavis Hawa Koomson as the surest candidate to maintain the seat.

According to him, an improved performance of the opposition NDC in the 2020 elections with a female candidate as against previous elections the party featured a male candidate suggests that voters in the constituency prefer a female leadership hence the need to field Hawa Koomson as the NPP’s candidate for the next parliamentary elections to be held in the Awutu Senya East Constituency.

Addressing party delegates after a walk to rejuvenate her base, Mavis Hawa Koomson the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya East Constituency touted herself as the best candidate among the others.

She has pledged to deliver yet another victory in both the parliamentary and presidential elections for the New Patriotic Party.
