NPP parliamentary primaries: Retain me for a better Yendi – Faruk Aliu Mahama to delegates

Member of Parliament for Yendi Constituency, Faruk Aliu Mahama has urged delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency to maintain him as the parliamentary candidate.

He made the call after the disbursement of funds for the payment of school fees of over a hundred students in his constituency.

The Yendi Constituency primaries of the ruling NPP is the most keenly contested constituency in the Northern region.

Scheduled for January 27th, this political battle is between the incumbent Member of Parliament for Yendi, Alhaji Faruk Aliu Mahama, and Abibata Saani Mahama, the MASLOC Chief Executive Officer, each of them is giving the delegates numerous reasons why they should be voted to represent the NPP in the constituency.

Over one hundred students from the Yendi constituency attending various educational institutions both in Ghana and abroad have benefited from the Faruk Aliu Mahama Educational Fund (FAMEC) established in 2021 by the Member of Parliament for Yendi, by getting their fees fully paid.

Speaking to the media after settling the school fees of the over hundred students, Alhaji Faruk Aliu Mahama said he’s gradually building the capacity of young people in Yendi for the future, through education and many other avenues stressing that, he did not put himself up to be an MP in Yendi for money, but to ensure that the larger population of the area are served properly.

He also urged the beneficiaries to study hard, noting that his effort to support them would only make sense if they study and pass well for the larger society to benefit from them.

On his part, the Deputy Director of Education for Yendi Municipality, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Habib, thanked the legislator for making education a priority in his constituency, urging constituents of the area to keep supporting the MP to deliver.

He also entreated the beneficiary students to do their part after their fees were fully paid by the MP

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to the media, could not hide their excitement for the tremendous support by the MP to see to it that their educational goals are achieved.

In all, about 210,000 Ghana Cedis were disbursed to students of various categories.
