Police on manhunt for Ablekuma bullion van robbers

The Ghana Police Service are on a manhunt to arrest gunmen who attacked a bullion van at Ablekuma Fanmilk, a suburb of Accra, and shot the police escort who has unfortunately passed on.

On Thursday, June 22, a gang of four robbers who were driving a black car attacked a bullion van at the Star Oil Fuel Station next to the ECG office in Ablekuma Fanmilk.

The police officers inside the van were the target of the robbers, who fired them twice, wounding them in the shoulder and abdomen.

An eyewitness says there were about 15 gunshots fired between the robbers and the on-duty police officers at the gas station.

One police officer died in the process.

Unfortunately, the thieves were able to flee with the loot. Everyone is baffled by the fact that the incident took place while all the cameras were offline for maintenance.

The bullion van driver’s current whereabouts is unknown

Meanwhile, the remains of the police officer has been deposited at the Weija Municipal Hospital’s morgue.
