A security guard has been shot dead during a robbery attack at Total 5, situated opposite All Nations University on the Koforidua Akwadum Road in the New Juaben North Municipality.
Another undisclosed person sustained an injury.
The security guard on duty, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, was fatally shot during the robbery. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His body was subsequently transported to the Central Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem examination.
During the robbery, an individual identified as a brother of the manager sustained gunshot wounds.
Prompt action was taken to provide necessary medical attention, and the injured person was swiftly conveyed to Central Hospital for immediate treatment.
The New Juaben North Municipality Police Department has initiated a comprehensive investigation into this incident.
Law enforcement officers are working diligently to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and apprehend the suspects responsible for this heinous act. The primary objective is to bring the culprits to justice and ensure the safety and security of the local community,” the New Juaben Police Department said in a statement.
