A tragic building collapse at Gomoa Osamkrom in the Central Region’s Gomoa Central District has resulted in the deaths of two young children.
The siblings, aged one year and one month, were trapped under the debris when a portion of their five-bedroom apartment suddenly collapsed.
The incident occurred on Monday evening around 9 pm, while their mother had stepped out to take a bath. Despite swift rescue efforts by neighbors, the children were found dead and their bodies were taken to the Agona Swedru Government Hospital’s morgue.
The mother is reportedly distraught over the loss of her children, and the community is in shock.
The cause of the building collapse is unknown, but sources suggest that cracks in the structure may have contributed to the tragedy.
The authorities have been informed, and an investigation is expected to determine the cause of the collapse and prevent similar incidents in the future.
