“We Are Fixing Ghana, Have Faith In The Government.”-NPP Youth Wing

The National Youth Wing of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is urging Ghanaians to have faith in the government’s attempts to address the difficulties facing the economy in reaction to the recent demonstration staged by the Democracy Hub organization.

The youth wing expressed its displeasure with the police operations on the first day of the rally in a statement posted on Sunday.

They stressed that the constitution protects the freedom to demonstrate and stated that citizens have the right to peacefully demand that their grievances be addressed.

The youth wing tried to pinpoint the primary reasons and demands behind the three-day protest but came up with nothing specific beyond the typical political platitudes like upgrading the roads and lowering living expenses.

The youth wing acknowledged the hardships faced by Ghanaians due to the economic crisis since 2021, which has been further exacerbated by the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and supply chain disruptions caused by the war in Eastern Europe.

They pointed out that these global events have affected economies worldwide, with the United States experiencing a 30-year high inflation rate of 8%.

The youth wing also emphasized the advancements made by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration since taking office.

They talked on the economy’s recovery, advances in infrastructure construction, programs to help young people find jobs, investments in the digital economy, and developments in the fields of education and health.

The Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government has undertaken key road projects, including the Ofankor-Nsawam dualization and the construction of several interchanges. They have also invested in state-of-the-art STEM schools, provided infrastructure for existing schools, and implemented free TVET and SHS policies. In the health sector, the completion and operationalization of the UGMC and the purchase of 300 new ambulances were highlighted.
The dualization of Ofankor-Nsawam and the development of multiple interchanges are just two of the significant road projects the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration has undertaken. Additionally, they have made investments in cutting-edge STEM schools, infrastructure improvements for already-existing schools, and free TVET and SHS policies. The UGMC’s completion and operationalization as well as the acquisition of 300 new ambulances were recognized in the health sector.

The government’s initiatives in industry and sports infrastructure were praised as well.

Although the youth wing acknowledged that unemployment was still a problem, it pointed out that the present administration had produced over 2 million jobs and had a history of actively tackling the issue by implementing a number of support initiatives.

They stressed how important the government’s contribution was in attaining important milestones like the introduction of the national identity program and the digitization of services.

The National Youth Wing of the NPP told Ghanaians that the administration is dedicated to resolving the issues the nation is now facing.

They stressed the significance of trust and highlighted Ghana’s prior position as the world’s fastest-growing economy in 2018, which led to the development of jobs and steady living expenses.

The youth wing reaffirmed their commitment to improving Ghana and requested cooperation and support from all residents.
