We’ve not cancelled Teachers, Nurses trainee allowances — Education Ministry

The Ministry of Education has denied claims that trainee allowances for teachers and nurses had been terminated.

The Ministry firmly debunked the reports as incorrect and unjustified in a statement, reiterating that there are no plans or intentions to cancel these allowances.

The message particularly referenced the Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and clarified that any comment attributed to him regarding the termination of allowances is absolutely false.

“The statement attributed to the Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum regarding the cancellation of allowances for teachers and nursing students is categorically false and unfounded. The Ministry of Education denies any such claims or intentions to terminate these allowances.

“We understand the importance of supporting and prioritizing the training of teachers, and the government remains committed to providing necessary financial assistance in these areas,” the statement noted.

The Ministry also urged the public to rely on reliable and verifiable information from official sources, including the Ministry of Education, official press releases, and reputable news organizations, for updates on issues relating to healthcare and education.
