Adwoa Safo still absent from Parliament despite returning from abroad

The Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo has been away from parliament for almost a year.

After living abroad for months, the legislator showed up at the Ebenezer Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Dome-CFC and intimated that she and her family have gone through a lot but they have sailed through by grace.

There was great optimism that she will attend parliamentary proceedings on Tuesday but proceedings on Tuesday, November 8 started 11:38am and the embattled mp was nowhere to be found.

Members of the media and even her fellow MPs hoped that she will make an appearance in the house even as time goes on but it did not turn out to be the case.

The day’s proceedings ended at 2 PM but there was no show from her.

The Speaker’s ruling that the report of the Privileges Committee be debated on the floor of Parliament to determine whether her seat should be declared vacant or not is also yet to be scheduled.

Now that Sarah Adwoa Safo is back in the country, a lot of people will continue to expect to see her in parliament soon and there is a chance she could be present in the chamber when the house determines her fate.
