A fuel Tanker driver has been reported to have absconded after killing a motor rider in a ghastly accident on the Sofoline-Abuakwa highway.

The accident is said to have occurred at Asuoyeboah in the Kwadaso municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The motor rider according to persons who chanced on the incident was trapped under the tanker before it run over him, bursting his head in the process.

They explained that the driver of the fuel tanker initially stopped to see what exactly occurred. But after seeing some agitated youth in the area heading towards his direction with some welding some kind of weapon, he sped off from the scene leaving the body.

The Abuakwa police command has since visited the scene and has picked up the body to be deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue for preservation and identification.
