NPP Ejisu Chairman confident of winning Ejisu by-election

The Ejisu Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ampofo Agyapong, has expressed confidence in the party’s chances of winning the upcoming by-election in Ejisu, despite a report by Global Info Analytics suggesting a close contest.

Speaking with Metro TV, Mr. Agyapong stated that the party is not complacent and is working hard to consolidate its gains in the constituency.

“We will not downplay the report by Global Info Analytics. We know Ejisu is always for NPP and we will win it again. But we will not be complacent, that is why we are working very hard to consolidate our gains,” Mr. Agyapong said in an interview with Metro TV.

Mr. Agyapong attributed the party’s success in Ejisu to its track record of delivering development projects and improving the lives of the people. He mentioned the achievements of former President John Agyekum Kufour and current President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as well as the efforts of the late Member of Parliament, John Kumah.

When asked about the potential threat from independent candidate Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, a former MP of the constituency, Mr. Agyapong downplayed concerns, stating that the situation on the ground is different from what the report suggests.

He expressed confidence that the people of Ejisu will vote for the NPP candidate, Kwabena Boateng, due to the party’s message and achievements.

“We are talking to everybody including the NDC supporters and I believe they will vote for our candidate Kwabena Boateng. What is important is they are accepting our message. We are not taking the independent candidate for granted but we are not worried, it is a contest we have to take anybody participating seriously”

Mr. Agyapong emphasized that the party is not taking the independent candidate for granted but is not worried, as they believe the people of Ejisu will ultimately decide in favor of the NPP and its candidate.

The by-election is scheduled for April 30, 2024.
