Alan Kyerematen files nomination forms

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, a prospective flagbearer for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has filed his nomination papers ahead of the party’s next primary on November 3, 2023.

At the NPP headquarters in Accra on Monday, June 12, 2023, Kyerematen, a former minister of Trade and Industry, submitted his nomination papers.

He was accompanied by current and past members of parliament as well as some top party officials, including John-Peter Amewu, the Minister for Railway Development and the MP for Hohoe, and Abena Osei Asare, the deputy minister of finance and the MP for the Atiwa East constituency.

Kyerematen’s dedication to the party and his intention to serve as the nation’s next president are demonstrated by his filing of the nomination papers, which is the first stage in the NPP’s presidential election process.

“The only guarantee for us to be able to win and ascend to power to succeed ourselves in 2024 will be for us to have free, fair and transparent elections,” he said, adding that
“So, whilst commending you for the work that you’ve done so far in the processes leading to the filing of nominations, I will encourage you and hope that you will do all in your power and authority to ensure that you guarantee free, fair and transparent elections for our party.”

He extended his appreciation to the party’s leaders and supporters for giving him the chance to run for president.
