Appiatse residents clarify stance on newly constructed homes

The residents of Appiatse have issued a statement clarifying their position on the newly constructed 124 homes in their community.

Contrary to a recent statement from the Office of the Information Minister-designate, the residents say they have not threatened to stop the usage of the homes.

Instead, they emphasize their intention to ensure all necessary work is completed to the highest standards before moving in. They believe it is in the best interest of all residents to wait until all finishing touches are done before occupancy to ensure safety and comfort.

The residents acknowledge the challenges faced by the Appiatse Reconstruction and Implementation Team and committees, and apologize for any misunderstanding or miscommunication.

They appreciate efforts to address concerns promptly and remain committed to working together towards the project’s successful completion.

The residents’ priority is the well-being and satisfaction of all Appiatse community members.

RESPONSE TO THE STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE
INFORMATION MINISTER-DESIGNATE

The residents of Appiatse wish to clarify certain aspects of the recent statement
issued by the Office of the Information Minister-designate regarding the completion
of the newly constructed 124 homes in our community.

Contrary to the assertion made, we would like to emphasize that there has been no form of threat from the residents to stop the usage of the newly constructed homes.

Our sole intention is to ensure that all necessary work is completed to the highest
standards before we move into our new residences.

We believe that it is in best interest of all residents to wait until all finishing touches
are done before occupancy to ensure the safety and comfort of our community
members.

We understand the challenges faced by the Appiatse Reconstruction and
Implementation Team and the committees. We have no intention of damaging the
good work done by them. If there have been any misunderstanding or
miscommunication, we apologise.

We appreciate the efforts being made by the relevant authorities to address these
concerns promptly, and we remain committed to working together towards the
successful completion of this project.

Our priority is to ensure the well-being and satisfaction of all residents of Appiatse.
