Asamoah Gyan’s lawyer denies ‘court order’ in divorce case

The lawyer for former Black Stars player, Asamoah Gyan, Edwin Kusi-Appiah, has denied widespread reports his client has been ordered by a court to compensate his ex-wife, Gifty Gyan.

He described as unfounded claims that Mr. Gyan was ordered to hand over a petrol station, two cars, a residence in London, and other assets to his estranged partner.

On October 31, 2023, rumors on social media stated that Gyan was ordered by the court to give Gifty a monthly stipend of GHC25,000 as care and support for their three children.

According to those reports, the court found that the three kids of Gifty Gyan belong to Asamoah Gyan.

Kusi-Appiah, however, confirmed that Gifty already owned the aforementioned properties and that Gyan had won the legal battle.

He said his client filed for an annulment after it came to his notice that his wife, Gifty had married prior to their marriage which deemed their marriage null and void.

Kusi-Appiah did not comment on the alleged monthly stipend.
