Baffour-Awuah appointed Minister for Pensions

Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Minister for Employment and Labor Relations, has been appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo as the Minister in charge of Pensions.

The National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) and the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) shall be steered by the minister as of January 30, 2023, in accordance with the appointment made pursuant to section 211 of the National Pensions Act 2008 (ACT 766).

Mr. Baffour Awuah disclosed this when he appeared before the Public Accounts Committee on February 1st.

The newly appointed minister was appointed with immediate effect after the Minority issued a warning that no fresh cabinet appointments would be accepted while the nation began a domestic debt restructuring to boost the faltering economy.
