Cecilia Dapaah’s scandal: Let’s focus our energies on Ghana’s progress instead — Eric Amoako Twum

A Government Spokesperson, Eric Amoako Twum, says Ghanaians need to give equal attention to the developments being initiated by the NPP government.

Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV. Eric Amoako Twum said away from the controversy surrounding Cecilia Dapaah, the former Sanitation and Water Resources who resigned after she reported millions of monies missing in her home the government has undertaken projects for the betterment of Ghanaians.

Eric Amoako Twum laid emphasis on the cabinet approval of the conversion of the regional hospital to a Teaching hospital in Sunyani that has been introduced by the government despite the ‘noise’ ongoing about Cecilia Dapaah and her source of wealth.

He believes this approval will go a long way to promote medical tourism and serve the citizens living up north efficiently.

Airing his views, he stated, “I am happy that in the midst of all this conversation, Parliament is still focused on doing what it is supposed to do.”

“When it comes to investment in the health sector and this whole conversating around recruitment of nurses and medical support staff in this government, the numbers are there to appreciate. Focus on expanding and democratizing healthcare delivery 111, it is also there for everyone to appreciate.” He added.

Cabinet has given its approval for the conversion of the Bono Regional Hospital into a teaching hospital to help enhance the hospital’s capabilities and foster medical education and research in the region.

Dr. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, the Minister of Health, has mentioned that this approval also paves the way for the establishment of a medical school at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) in the near future.
