In a statement released by TEIN-CR, the network praised the historic decision, highlighting it as a testament to the commitment of President Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership towards fostering social justice, gender inclusivity, and the empowerment of women.

Professor Opoku Agyeman, renowned for her scholarly achievements and her tenure as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, is lauded for her impeccable credentials and leadership qualities. Her nomination is seen as a beacon of trust, competence, and integrity, poised to inject a new dynamism into the vice presidency and energize the Ghanaian electorate.

TEIN-CR, representing the intellectual arm of the NDC in the Central Region, expressed pride in Professor Opoku Agyeman’s accomplishments, particularly her transformative impact on education during her service as Minister for Education from 2013 to 2017.
