Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi is be expected to see an appearance before members of the Kumasi Traditional Council.

Chairman Wontumi was reportedly making disparaging words about the Asantehene after a fight with the Kokosohene, Nana Kwaku Dua, broke out during the screening of candidates for the Ashanti region’s parliament.

This led to the Asante Kingdom’s second-highest decision-making authority calling for Wontumi’s arrest.

Chairman Wontumi did not show up for a hearing before the traditional council for health concerns, notwithstanding his denial of the claims.

The national leadership of the NPP was instructed to make sure he showed up within a week despite his request for additional time.

The meeting is scheduled for this morning at 11:00 a.m., per a letter of invitation from the Council.
