‘Dumsor’ likely to occur during peak hours – ECG

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that it is likely there will be power outages during peak hours.

The power company noted that the peak hours are between 7 pm and 11 pm.

This is due to blown fuses and broken conductors causing outages.

In a statement, ECG explained that it has identified that six hundred and thirty (630) distribution of transformers within communities across the operational areas have been identified to be full due to increased demand.

“We wish to assure customers that, transformer upgrading and new projects are ongoing to relieve these transformers to ensure a more reliable power supply,” said EC in the statement.

The ECG indicated that customers are advised to report any localized outages or voltage fluctuations to the “ECG call Center on (0302611611) which is also available on WhatsApp or the social media hands via ECGghofficial (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) for prompt rectification.”

“We continue to seek the support and patience of affected customers as we work to improve our power distribution system.”
