Faruk Aliu Mahama cut sod for the construction of Yendi inner city roads

Member of Parliament for Yendi constituency, Faruk Aliu Mahama has cut sod for the construction of the inner-city roads in the area.

This good news comes after so many years of failed promises by the government to fix them.

The inner-city roads of Yendi, the traditional capital of the Dagbon Kingdom have been in bad shape for many years, prompting stakeholders, including the overlord of the Kingdom, Ya-Naa Abukari II to appeal to the government on many occasions to get the roads in Yendi fixed.

During the last visit of the Vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to the Ya-Naa, he promised to get the roads fixed soon.

Fortunately, the good people of the traditional capital of the Dagbon Kingdom, are beginning to see good results after the Member of Parliament for Yendi, together with other stakeholders cut sod for the commencement on the roads within Yendi township.

Speaking during the event, the Member of Parliament for Yendi, Alhaji Faruk Aliu Mahama expressed his excitement, urging the people to continue to vote for him and the NPP to continue their good works.

He added that will always be there for the good people of the Yendi constituency whenever they need him.

On his part, the Municipal Chief Executive for Yendi Municipality, Alhaji Ahmed Abubakari Yussif, used the occasion to call on the grassroots supporters of the NPP to desist from personal attacks in the cause of campaigning for their preferred candidates within the party.

He also thanked the King of Dagbon, Ya-Naa Abukari II for always calling for development in Yendi and Dagbon Kingdom at large, whenever a political figure, any prominent individual or a group, visits his palace.

In a speech read on his behalf, the overlord, Ya-Naa Abukari II said he was grateful to the government for making the development of the Dagbon Kingdom a priority.

He also called for swift action on the water challenges facing the good people of Yendi and its environs.
