Four PRESEC students arrested for staging kidnap to extort money

Six people, including four students from the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC) are in the grips of the Ghana Police Service for allegedly staging a kidnap to extort money from one of the student’s parents to travel abroad.

The Police announced the arrest of the six persons include four juveniles, all PRESEC Legon students and two adults, Isaac Kissi Adjei alias Kofi Black and Courage Teiko alias Timmy in a statement issued on Friday, April 5, 2024.

“In the process, they demanded an amount of Three Hundred and Forty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵340,000.00) as ransom from the alleged victim’s parents,” said the police in the statement.

“The Investigation further disclosed that the juveniles together with the two others succeeded in collecting an amount of Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵20,000.00) of the total ransom demanded,” the Police added.

Meanwhile, the police have duly informed the parents and guardians of the students arrest.
