Frederick Asare Bekoe appointed Chief of Air Staff

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Air Vice Marshal Frederick Asare Kwesi Bekoe as Chief of Air Staff.

The decision was taken in consultation with the Council of State.

His appointment will be effective on January 26, 2023.

This is in accordance with Article 212 of the 1992 Constitution.

In a release dated January 26, 2023, the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, stated that the appointment followed the retirement of his predecessor (Air Vice Marshal Frank Hanson) from the Ghana Armed Forces.

“President Akufo-Addo has expressed his gratitude to the former Chef of Air Staff for his dedicated and meritorious service to the Ghana Armed Forces and to the nation, and wished him well in his retirement”, the statement from the presidency concluded.
