GACL Chairman denies plot to replace MD

GACL Chairman denies plot to replace MD

Paul Adom-Otchere, the Chairman of the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL), has denied being part of any scheme to oust Pamela Djamson-Tettey, the MD of the organization, from her position.

Speaking on the issue, Mr. Adom-Otchere said he had not sent any letters or given any indications that the MD should be fired.

“I have not written any letter or given any indication over a matter like that anywhere or at any meeting,” said Mr. Adom-Otchere in response to the allegations made by the GACL Division of the Public Services Workers Union of Trades Union Congress (PSWU of TUC).

In a statement earlier this week, the PSWU of TUC expressed worry over a rumored attempt to depose Mrs. Djamson-Tettey from her position as MD of GACL.

The Union asserted that it had obtained reliable evidence indicating that Mr. Adom-Otchere was responsible for the scheme because of differences with the MD on certain decisions that were not in the best interests of the business.

The GACL has seen substantial growth and stability under Mrs. Djamson-Tettey’s leadership, the Union lauded, garnering international recognition and promoting industrial peace.

The Union further emphasized the potential consequences of dismissing the MD at this pivotal time in the course of the business. They pleaded with Mr. Adom-Otchere to stop picking on the Managing Director and to permit her to keep upholding President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s agenda.

Mrs. Djamson-Tettey did not respond to the accusations.

In the interim, employees are urged to maintain their composure and wait for further word from the Divisional Union. Uncertainty surrounds the GACL, and it is unclear how this claimed conspiracy will play out or what consequences it might have for both the business and the country as a whole.
