The chief of New Akrofuom in the Adansi Asokwa district of the Ashanti Region has been arrested by police for allegedly attempting to sodomize a 17-year-old boy.
The incident happened in the early hours of Monday, October 23, 2023.
Eyewitnesses say the young boy informed other community members when the chief entered his room with the aim of performing the act on him.
The community members rushed to the chief’s house and tried to lynch him but he fled the scene.
Meanwhile, the police have apprehended the chief to assist with investigations.
