GFA post-AFCON press conference was needless – Micky Charles

Football Administrator Micky Charles has described as needless the Ghana Football Association’s engagement with the media in Kumasi after the Black Stars’ disastrous 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign.

He believes the ‘Meet the Press’ organized by the Ghana FA will not address the problems confronting the senior men’s national team.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) held a media engagement session on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 in Kumasi, the event was attended by members of the Executive Council, General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo, Randy Abbey, and staff of the Association.

GFA President Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku explained to the media events leading up to Ghana’s campaign in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire and other issues regarding the team’s early exit from the competition for the second time.

However, Football Administrator, Micky Charles in an interview with Original 91.9FM’s Collins Agyei, known widely as Justice Collee stated that the press conference was of no importance and thus it would not yield anything fruitful.

He called on Mr. Kurt Okraku to resign if he cannot deliver the mandate as the President of the Ghana Football Association.

‘’if he can’t do the job he should resign,‘’ he said on the Super Morning Show on Thursday morning.
