Ghana Gas supports 1st African Para Games with GHS200,000

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Gas Company Limited, Dr. Ben KD Asante, has reiterated his outfit’s quest to support sports in the country.

To him, lack of funds has been the bane of sports development in Ghana, hence the nation’s premiere mid-stream gas business company’s decision to support the 2023 African Para Games.

He believes his company’s sponsorship for the para games attests to the need for support from the corporate world.

The Ghana Gas boss hosted the President of the African Paralympic Committee, Samson Deen, as he provided briefings on the upcoming para games from September 3 to September 12, 2023.

He added, “We will Para games and ensure we produce more world and African champions. I have approved a sponsorship package of 200,000 cedis in support of the organisation of the first African Para games. Government can’t do it alone.”

The African Paralympic Committee boss expressed profound gratitude to the Ghana Gas CEO for the kind gesture and promised to put the funds to good use.

Ghana will host twenty-two African countries at the first African para games, competing for gold in amputee football, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis, and other games.

Ghana Gas owns and operates the infrastructure required for the gathering, processing, transporting, and marketing of natural gas resources in Ghana.

The support for Paralympics is one of Ghana Gas’ many interventions for sports development in the country, having rallied financial support for boxing and the construction of astro turfs across the country.
