GPRTU gives gov’t two-week ultimatum to fix Kpone Katamanso deplorable roads

The Chairman of the Ghana Public Transport Regulations Union Chairman in the Kpone Katamanso Municipality, Mr. Rexmond Nti Amoah, has given the government a two-week ultimatum to fix their deplorable road or face their wrath.

According to him, the deplorable roads are having a negative impact on their business.

“We give the government two weeks ultimatum to come to an agreement to fix our roads in our enclave to avoid our wrath,” Mr. Nti Amoah said.

The appalling state of roads in the Kpone Katamanso Municipality of the Greater Accra Region prompted residents to take to the streets on Monday, August 12, 2023.

The residents through the demonstration drew the government’s attention to fix the road after a series of unfulfilled promises.

The road from Kpone Barrier to the Michel Camp Gate was blocked. Officials of the GPRU also embarked on a sit-down strike.

Speaking to Metro TV in an interview, Mr. Rexmond Nti Amoah, the Chairman of the Ghana Public Transport Regulations Union Chairman in the Kpone Katamanso Municipality said his outfit is ready to take severe actions until the roads are fixed.

“Today, it is a sit-down strike, in the coming weeks, it will become a full-blown demonstration. We will leave Innocent residence more stranded than witnessed today,” he said.
