I’m hustling to feed family; I’m not a fame chaser – Amerado

Popular Ghanaian rapper, Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, popularly known as Amerado, has revealed that he is struggling to feed his family and it has never been about the fame.

He stated when he appeared as a guest on 14th September 2023 edition of Metro TV’s Entertainment Review that he places a premium on what will make him laugh his way to the bank as a musician.

“I have never seen myself as an artiste a young man who’s struggling to feed my family, fame is a drug and I believe that once you attain fame, if you are not smart you will lose the true you. Example; if I step on campus, I forget about me being a brand or a commercial artiste because once I don’t forget I begin to disrespectful to the lectures and even connect with the people and make new friends but when I step out of that zone now I’m Amerado. Know what to eat, talk, and know how to make people pay to come and watch you,” he explained.

Amerado has released a new song titled ‘Kwaku Ananse’ which he suggests is a song that will allow him focus on his educational journey and also it is doing the right thing at the right time because music comes on vacation and halts when school is in session.

Amerado believes that to succeed everyone must set their priorities right and follow to the latter because combining both commercial music and education can be very difficult and can affect the other and vice versa.
