Indiscipline has become part of our culture — Lartehene laments

The Lartehene who doubles as the Akuapem Benkumhene, Osabarima Asiedu Okoo Ababio, has expressed deep concerns about how indiscipline has engulfed the whole society and apparently becomes part of our culture.

He pointed out that parents now refuse to allow their children to be corrected for wrongdoing and has resulted in the rise in grave social vices across the country.

The Lartehene speaking at this year’s Odwira Festival which also coincided with his 30th anniversary of his ascension to the stool, called for the need to improve on the nation’s sanitation to help prevent diseases.

He also stated that there has been dwindle level of education and alarming rate of failure which something needed to be done urgently.

Lartehene, however, lamented about the deep rooted indiscipline which has engulfed the whole society and has become part of our culture. He used the occasion to appeal to the government to improve the road network from Mamfe to the Larteh town.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong also stated that the chieftaincy institution has coexisted with local government system since time immemorial and has helped pushed development in the traditional areas and called for peace in the traditional areas to help champion development.
