Join us to impeach Ken Ofori-Atta – Minority to NPP MPs

The minority caucus in parliament through its deputy chief whip, who doubles as MP for Banda, Ahmed Ibrahim has called on the majority caucus to join them to impeach finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

He explained that the minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu has prepared a vote of censorship to be filed in Parliament today to remove Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta from office, therefore if the majority caucus really wants the finance minister from office,  they should support the move of impeachment to force the finance minister out of office, if President Akuafo-Addo is not ready to act.

Ahmed Ibrahim said this in an address to journalists at Parliament today.

Some MPs belonging to the majority caucus in Parliament have called on President Akuafo-Addo to remove the finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta and the minister of state at the Ministry of Finance, Charles Adu-Boahen from office in order to save Ghana’s economy and current economic hardships.

The leader of the group, Andy Appiah-Kubi who is the MP for Asante Akyem north at a press briefing in Parliament earlier today said if President Akufo-Addo fails to comply with their demands, they would not participate in all government business in the House and would also boycott the 2023 annual budget which would soon be presented in Parliament.
