You say election is about holding the country together; is Ghana split? Nana Akomea fires at Naana Jane

Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation, Nana Akomea says some assertions by National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang during her outdooring ceremony are uncalled for.

Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Nana Akomea believes propaganda has taken over the National Democratic Congress and scores of politicking have become the party’s new normal.

“She says [the] election is about holding the Country together, why is the country split? is Ghana as we know split? Is Ghana coming apart? She said she would fight greed, and pull the country back from the precipice, which precipice? Is Ghana about to fall into some hellhole? She said Ghana will not function again, so is Ghana not functioning? She said people will regain their independence of thought, so Ghanaians can no longer think independently?” he wondered.

Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate for the National Democratic Congress has emphasized that the imminent polls are crucial for the future of Ghana. She disclosed this during her official unveiling on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.

“The elections ahead and winning them is about winning elections for a purpose. The purpose goes beyond those enumerated above. The purpose is the opportunity to heal our country again. It is about the opportunity to pull Ghana back from the precipice of destruction, of normalising corruption, of incomprehensible greed, and from deep despair,” she said.

Nana Akmoea posited that Prof. Naana Opoku Agyemang’s speech was full of poetry and politicks.

“I was struck by her poetry but I understand that is her field, we are being told that she held the nation spell bound, she charmed the country, where was the charm? What did she say that is so striking that we have never heard before? That should hold us spell bound. What did she say?” He asked.
