Former Acting Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Adomako Baafi has disclosed that the Member of Parliament for Assin Central and flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has a long-standing hatred for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to Adomako Baafi, he is not surprised about the constant attacks on the Vice President’s personality by Kennedy Agyapong since he is aware of the hatred the Assin Central MP has for Dr. Bawumia.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Wontumi Radio/TV, the former Director of Communications revealed that Mr. Kennedy Agyapong’s hatred for Dr. Bawumia dates back to 2007 when he [Dr. Bawumia] was introduced into the party.

He continued that the choice of Bawumia as a running mate to then-candidate Akufo-Addo was massively accepted by all party members except Kennedy Agyapong who vehemently opposed the idea.

He added that he does not know the crime Dr. Bawumia has committed against Mr. Agyapong to warrant such hatred from him.

Adomako-Baafi, therefore, indicated that the team of Dr. Bawumia is not perturbed about the incessant attacks from Kennedy Agyapong since he is exhibiting his longstanding hatred for the vice president.

“In any case, in 2007 when we were bringing Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong was the only person who stood against it. All party members endorsed him. All Ghanaians can remember when we were going to Takoradi, he was the only person who opposed it. So he is revisiting his hatred against this man,” the NPP man narrated.

“What has done against him? Why? What is happening?” he quizzed.
