Liberia Amputee footballers cry for help with peaceful protest as Para Games beckons

Liberia’s National Amputee Football Team has embarked on a peaceful protest, at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, as the team hopes to secure financial support for the upcoming 2023 Accra Para Games.

The protest was led by leaders of the Liberian National Amputee Football Team and several players from the team who carried placards and banners with several inscriptions that sent messages of plea to the Ministry to approve the team’s budget for them to participate in the games.

The Liberian National Amputee Football Team is set to join other teams across Africa to participate in the first-ever Para Games, Accra 2023 which is scheduled for 3– 12 September 2023, but faces some financial constraints as the unprecedented event beckons.
