Man arrested for killing babe

A 21-year-old man whose name has been given us Bright Larvie has been apprehended by the Awutu Bereku District Police command for allegedly killing his 3 weeks old baby boy for money rituals at Fetteh Kakraba in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

The suspect, Bright Larvie stays with his wife in the same vicinity but in different houses.

At around 11pm on Monday, the suspect showed up at her wife’s residence under the pretense of having a conversation with her.

Unknowingly, he had connived with some friends of his to sneak into the room and have the baby while he held his wife in the conversation.

Moments later, the wife returned to her room but found the baby missing and began to raise alarm causing residents to establish a search team.

The team led by the development Chief of Gomoa Mamfam, Richard Egyir, trailed the suspect and had him apprehended.

Upon interrogations he confessed of having beheaded the baby for the purpose of money rituals.

He was subsequently handed over to the Awutu Breku District Police Command where he’s currently being held for investigations.

The chief of the area, Nana Essel Amoquandoh IV has expressed disbelief and admonished the youth to avoid seeking for wealth through shortcuts.

He also called on the police to deeply investigate the matter.
