The President of Ghana Athletics Bawa Fuseini has called for the efficient management of the University of Ghana stadium to help sporting activities.

He said the facilities will be used by Ghana Athletics this year for both local and international events and that it should be in very good state when the time is up.

‘’We are bidding for the 2026 African Championship and we will also host the West African Senior Championship in June,’’ he said

The University of Ghana Stadium is one of the major venues that was used during the 13th edition of the African Games.

The University of Ghana Stadium has a standard football pitch, an 8-lane running track, an 8-lane, warm-up track, an athletic oval, a media centre, a VVIP Lounge, offices and an upgraded rugby pitch.

Ghana spent 33 million dollars to complete the 11,000-seater capacity Legon stadium.
