Muslim Councils of Ghana lauds Mahama for supporting Anti- LGBTQ+ Bill

The Federation of Muslim Councils of Ghana has applauded the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, on his support for proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaians Family Values Bill 2021 currently before Parliament.

The former president denounced LGBTQ+ activities, stating categorically that it conflicts with his faith as a member of the Assemblies of God church in Ghana.

He also stated his unflinching support for the Anti-LGBTQ+ bill.

His stance, according to the Federation Of Muslim Councils in Ghana, resonates with the teachings of Islam and what Muslims stand for.

In a statement, the Federation of Muslims Councils of Ghana said its attempt to oppose the LGBTQ+ has proven futile and it is therefore calling on flagbearers of other political parties in the upcoming 2024 elections to take a cue from the NDC flagbearer and publicly announce their respective positions on LGBTQ+ bill.
