My wife urged me on when I gave up on my football career — Abednego Tetteh

Bibiani GoldStars forward, Abednego Tetteh, has credited his wife for his success story in this season’s BetPawa Premier League.

According to Tetteh, who is affectionately called Zlatan in the football fraternity, his better half showed him immense support and love when his career went down on its knees.

Zlatan joined Hearts of Oak on a three-year contract in May 2020, but failed to make the mark at the club and was released in August 2021.

After a year on the sidelines, Tetteh signed a two-year deal with Kumasi-based King Faisal in August last year and scored two goals in 10 matches for the side in the first half of the current season before mutually terminating his contract with the side.

Speaking to Gideon Okyere Anim on Original 91.9FM’s Super Sports Show, the 32 year old said; “My wife was the only one who encouraged me to continue playing, when all hope was lost.”

“She continue to show me support and so much love”

“I thank my wife for the key role she has played in my football career so far”.

“My wife is the secret behind my success”

The former Al Hilal Omdurman of Sudan striker found his goal scoring boots when he signed for Bibiani GoldStars in January 2023 and has since then netted 16 goals for the Golden Boys after 32 games.

The Bibiani-based forward has become the leading goal scorer in the ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Premier league (GPL) season.
