Organized Labour suspends planned demo against 15% VAT on electricity

The planned protest by Organized Labour against the proposed 15 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) on electricity has been postponed till today, Friday, February 9, 2024.

This decision is a reaction to the recent action taken by the government to halt the application of the contentious tax policy.

Dr. Yaw Baah, the General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress  (TUC), warned at a press conference that if the government fails to immediately reverse the policy completely, the demonstration would continue.

He said Organized Labour will not hold back while opposing any future unfair tax laws.
