Over sexuality of females has killed their visibility in the music industry – Christina Carmel

Trained Psychologist Christina Carmel has stated emphatically that the over-sexuality of female artistes has killed their visibility in the industry.

Christina, joining the Metro TV’s Entertainment Review team on August 2, 2023, stated that the first thing she noticed when she came to Ghana was the over-sexuality hype of female artistes which to her is very annoying to say the less.

She, therefore, urged stakeholders to put a stop to it.

According to her, she kept wondering what the female artistes were really giving out, whether it is their talents or their assets not in terms of the property thus their body stature and physical appearance which is not just disturbing but very underlying to the gender.

Talking about her second realization, Christina noted that aside from the over-sexuality which happens to sell across Africa, in Ghana, gossip sells.

She explained that Ghanaians love and thrive on the entertainment that nips and pickets on people, however, when a female artiste doesn’t have good vocals, but she’s splendid physique the focus is shifted from music again to the ‘bangin’ body.

“Teams or musical labels need to end that, which also seems like an easy way thus over sexualize an individual equals good promotion and huge monies in the pockets, then the cycle goes around, and it is not about the talent or music now which is one of the worst practices in Ghana,” the psychologist added.
