37 Military Hospital to conduct mass burial for unclaimed bodies on Sept. 1

Management of the 37 Military Hospital has announced plans to embark on a mass burial exercise for identified but unclaimed as well as unidentified bodies at the hospital’s morgue.

The hospital last conducted a mass burial on 11 March 2017.

In a public notice on Wednesday, August 2, the 37 Military Hospital said the unclaimed bodies have caused congestion in the mortuary and affected efficiency in its day-to-day operation.

“Pending the mass burial exercise on Friday 1 September 2023, the general public is being urged to assist in identifying the bodies,” excerpts of the statement read.

The relatives of the unclaimed bodies are requested to visit the Department of Anatomical Pathology of the 37 Military Hospital from Thursday 3 August to Thursday 31 August 2023 to claim the bodies.

“The public is kindly advised to take note and cooperate with the hospital for a successful exercise,” the statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel, A. Marteye, Director General Public Relations, 37 Military Hospital said.
