A National Communications Team Member of the National Democratic Congress, Professor Benedicta Yayra Fosu-Mensah has chastised the New Patriotic Party (NPP), saying contrary to its “milk and honey” promise and campaign to move the country from taxation to production, it has made life unbearable for Ghanaians.
Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV on May 6, Professor Benedicta insisted that the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Addo-led administration has performed abysmally and has further plunged Ghanaians into poverty with economic difficulties taking a toll on various sectors of society.
“This government promised us Heaven but they are delivering hell. Your salary in 2016, you can imagine the number of cement it can buy if you intend to use your entire salary to buy it, today I’m sure that will not even buy a quarter of the quantity you could buy. In 1016, we were buying a bag of cement at GHS23 this morning, cement is around GHS97,” she posited.
Prof Yayra Fosu-Mensah mocked the government noting that it will soon blame the Israel and Palestine war for the power crisis.
“I’m sure that very soon they will start blaming Israel and the Palestinian war as one of the reasons why we are having dumsor”.
She further made an appalling accusation that the financial sector cleanup “was a part of strategy to capture the financial sector” as alluded to in the Agyapadie book.
“When you read Agyapadie document, you will see how they intend to capture the financial sector and all what happened in 2018 are in the document, meanwhile, this document came out long before 2018 and it happens. In the Agyapadie document, it indicated that they will find a way of making sure that the son of Osafo Marfo takes over as the boss od SSNIT, it is in the document, and somehow, miraculously happened to be appointed,” she said.
