Ghana recovering strongly from external shocks – NPP Deputy Communications Director

Ghana is recovering strongly and positively from external shocks, despite still feeling the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and other global challenges, according to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“We are doing the best we can as a country,” said Hajia Rabi Salifu, NPP’s Deputy Communications Director on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV on Monday, May 6, 2024. “We started recovering and we are recovering strongly… we are not where we want to be, but we are doing our best.”

Ghana has faced economic hardship and high fuel prices, blamed on external factors such as the pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. However, Hajia Rabi Salifu says the government has implemented policies and projects that have positively impacted citizens, including road construction, airport development, and social programs like Free SHS and TVETs.

“No jobs have been lost in the government sector, even during difficult times,” said Hajia Rabi Salifu.

According to her, this shows the “government’s determination to improve the lives of its citizens.”

Hajia Rabi Salifu highlighted the Akufo-Addo’s government achievements, including freshly constructed roads and interchanges, drone deliveries, and agricultural development.

“Ghana is not an exception, we are feeling the impact of global challenges, but we are doing our best to recover,” said Hajia Rabi Salifu.
