The appalling state of roads in the Kpone Katamanso constituency of the Greater Accra Region has prompted residents to take to the streets on Monday morning.
The residents are through the demonstration drawing the government’s attention to fix the road after a series of unfulfilled promises.
The road from Kpone Barrier to the Michel Camp Gate has been blocked.
The dusty and dilapidated nature of the road makes it difficult for motorists to use it when it rains.
Economic activities in the area are badly affected.
The protestors burnt car tyres as they call on the government to fulfill their promise of tarring the road in spite of several appeals.
The blockade has resulted in traffic congestion along the route and affected the activities of companies located in the area.
