The tariff for manufacturers of water sachets has increased from GHS/M3 22.26 to 22.34, and the tariff for industrial consumers will be shifted from GHS/M3 25.29 to 25.38.

Following the Commission’s 2023 fourth quarter tariff review, the PURC Executive Secretary, Dr. Ishmael Ackah, signed a release that included this information.

For electricity, residential lifeline customers (0-30kWh) will have their tariff reduced from 0.64 to 0.63; all residential customers (0.300kWh)will have theirs reduced from GHS/M3 1.42 to GHS/m3 1.40.

Dr. Ackah clarified that the Commission considered several factors before making its decision, including the price of electricity, the volume and cost of chemicals used to treat raw water, inflation, and the exchange rate between the Ghana Cedi and the US dollar.
