Reconduct primaries to save NPP in Yendi – Delegates to National Executives

Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Yendi Constituency of the Northern Region are calling for a rerun of the parliamentary primaries in the constituency.

This comes after the election processes were disrupted without a conclusive winner on the 27th of January 2024.

Many grassroots supporters of NPP in the Yendi constituency believed the fortunes of the party will be affected in the general elections if the parliamentary primaries in the constituency are not reconducted to get a conclusive winner and loser between the two aspirants in the constituency.

At a press conference organized in Yendi, some delegates and grassroot members of the party called on the NPP National Executives to fix a date for primaries to be reconducted in the constituency to ensure the high spirit of the party continue to run in the constituency.

They added that the leadership of the party should act quickly in order to save the party in the Yendi constituency by reconducting the primaries.

Some delegates who spoke to the media said the party risked losing the Yendi parliamentary seat if the voices of the grassroots are not listened to.
