A footbridge at Ellonyi in Ellembelle District of Western Region, is currently troubling pedestrians and motorists.

This follows the deplorable state of the bridge following torrential rains last year.

According to farmers and pedestrians using the bridge, the obsolete state of the metallic bridge is threatening movement of goods and services in the community.

Consequently, members of the community want Ghana National Gas Company to help fix the problem

The bridge connects many of the communities in this area.

All the metals making up the bridge have become weak, obsolete, while the main structure itself, according to members of the community, cannot stand any strong wind during the raining season.

The bridge, they noted, allows the movement of goods and services in the area and therefore requires attention.

The parliamentary candidate for Convention Peoples Party (CPP) in the Ellembelle Constituency, Blay Miezah, has taken it upon himself to draw attention of authorities of Ghana National Gas Company to deal decisively with the current state of the Bridge

He said the development of critical infrastructure in the area must be the primary focus of the company.
