Richmond Ayi axed from Phobian team to face Accra Lions

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Richmond Ayi has been dropped from the squad set to face Accra Lions today, Wednesday 29th March 2023, according to a source close to Original FM’s sports desk.

The reason for his exemption is not immediately known.

However, it comes after Hearts of Oak lost 0-3 to Karela United at the CAM Park in Aiyinase.

During that encounter, Ayi grabbed the headlines for his weird look in the game as the former WAFA SC player’s face and hair were covered with a white substance.

The loss was the first for the Phobians since assistant coach David Ocloo took over lead tactical duties from head coach Slavko Matic who has been away from the team since a run-in with a group of fans at the team’s Pobiman facility.

Meanwhile. in the matchday 24 encounter, Hearts of Oak will face the Accra Lions who are currently second on the league table after Aduana Stars.
