Samuel Inkoom optimistic of Black Stars’ comeback against Egypt

Former Black Stars player Samuel Inkoom says there is no team spirit within this current Black Stars squad hence the team must bounce back to form against Egypt.

After a challenging start to the tournament with a 2-1 defeat against Cape Verde, Inkoom believes the upcoming clash against Egypt provides a crucial opportunity for the Black Stars to revive their campaign.

“Both teams played very well. Of course, but Ghana lacked team spirit and urgency,” Samuel Inkoom told Accra-based Original FM 91.9.

“If the players can revive their spirit and play together like a team the results will be positive,” he continued.

Ghana failed to go beyond the group stage at the last Nations Cup in Cameroon and is bent on making it to the next phase of the tournament.

The crucial match between Ghana and Egypt takes place at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny on Thursday and begins at 20:00 GMT. The Black Stars are keen to get back on track and defeat Egypt to advance past the group stage of AFCON 2023.
